El contexto falso implica información inventada para estructurar una noticia. En tanto, el contenido manipulado puede tener información genuina, pero que ha sido modificada con un interés detrás.

La sátira o parodia no busca dañar. Además, a veces se recurre a malinterpretaciones de la información o de contenido multimedia.

También se recurre a contenido de autoridades suplantadas. Y, finalmente, existe el contenido 100% falso.
